My Cherry Post

Ok, I am taking a break from my assessment, intervention, and IEP writing to write some more! Weird right? Well I thought I would dip my toes into this madness about blogging to see if I'm ready to dive in and swim.

So, I guess to start off with I should say a little about me just in case I haven't talked to any of ya'll in a while. I'm currently in my last semester at Iowa State. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education and student teaching in Madrid for one more week and then off to New Zealand (AHH-no way :):) ) for my second placement with Kindergarteners. I'm still dating the same dude (Tyler Lewis) of about 4 years? 5 year? I'm a girl I should know this right? haha. I am 22, living in Ames, andddd.... that's it I guess.

I leave the 17th to head off to the other side of the world for two months (EEK) and I am getting suuuper excited about that. Follow here for updates as I will have no phone and limited internet connection, so I will summarize on here!!

The class I'm in right now is an Early Childhood Special Education room and I absolutely love it. I've learned a TON and am getting really excited to begin my career as teacher next year!!!!

Hm.. What else do you want to know.. I'm STILLL working at Wallaby's Bar & Grille in Ames, IA, been there for almost 4 years. I now only work one shift a week though, so come see me on Friday nights as I only have two left and I will be finishing my career as a waitress at Wallaby's. (happy/sad).

I bet you are wondering why my blog is called "Oh Tartar Sauce." It is inspired by an energetic young man in my class right now. He always says it in class and it always cracks me up! I guess I'm learning to be positive about life situations and Oh Tartar Sauce is just something light hearted to say when something goes wrong. So here's to enjoying life and lightening darkened situations!

Cheers!

P.S. I just received word that my cousin Stephanie (and Casey-the co-baby-creator-hubby) Schafbuch just had their baby! She has been hospitalized for about a week with pre-eclampsia and wasn't able to control symptoms that were endangering her live so they took the baby 11 weeks early. Baby is a little more than 2.5 pounds! I can't wait to meet the little stinker! I'm hoping and praying mom and baby are healthy, I'm super distracted from homework now as I just want to rush down to the hospital and celebrate the new life! Updates to follow with the little peanut and new mom!
